12/19/08 - Chicken Fund Raising Sale is put on in April to generate funds for the club to carry on our service projects. McDonald’s Aina Haina has been donating refreshments to our work crews during this event held at Aina Haina School. The school has been our cook out and distribution point for the past 38 years. Our association with the school has been beneficial to both of us.

12/22/08 - Any community youth group who need funding for various activities, uniforms, equipment, travel expenses, can join the Koko Head Lions Joint Fund Drive. Profits generated are split with the various participants based on pre-ticket sales. Past participants have been the Boys Scouts Troop 130, the Kalani High School Project Grads, the Kalani High School Rifle Team, the Kalani High School Band, Wilson Elementary School, Wailupe Valley School, the Saint Louis High School Jr. Golf Team, and JPO teams from the various elementary schools. No group with a legitimate goal and a desire to work and hustle is refused.

12/27/08 - Annual Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest This year, 2008, the theme is "Peace begins with me." Two middle schools participated, Kaimuki Middle and Niu Valley Middle School. Posters were on display at Kahala Mall for one week in November for many shoppers to see. Koko Head Club awards ($225.) will be presented to winners in January at their schools.
